Caden Gaudette replaced Loy to start the 9th and he pitched a 1-2-3 scoreless inning to give Georgia Tech the win.
Yellow Jackets get the sweep and move to 36-7 overall and 19-5 in the ACC (25-2 at home!!). Next up is Kennesaw State on Tuesday night, before hosting Xavier for a weekend series
Bottom of the 8th
Brosius pinch hit for Daniel and got a walk and then Drew Rogers came in to pinch hit for Lewis, but struck out. Burress got a single and an error advanced him to second and GT had two runners in scoring position with two outs. Advincula walked to load the bases and the Lackey was walked on four pitches to give Georgia Tech a 6-5 lead. Schmidt struck out to end the inning and the Yellow Jackets are going to try and win the game in the 9th

Loy issues a two out walk, but allows no hits or runs. Game is tied 5-5 heading to the bottom of the 8th
Bottom of the 7th
Advincula got a leadoff single and then stole second. Schmidt was hit by a pitch and Baker was intentionally walked with two outs, but Zuckerman could not make them pay and GT left the bases loaded. Game is tied 5-5 heading to the 8th
Top of the 7th
Loy gives up a leadoff single, but keeps Wake off the board. Game is tied 5-5 heading to the bottom of the 7th
Bottom of the 6th
A one out double from Daniel later led to a two out RBI single from Kerce that tied the game 5-5. Burress struck out to end the inning but the game is tied 5-5 heading to the 7th
Top of the 6th
Dylan Loy replaced Barfield to start the 6th. He strikes out two and pitches a scoreless inning and Wake leads 5-4 heading to the bottom of the 6th
Bottom of the 5th
Burress gets a leadoff walk and Schmidt hits a two out single, but both runners are left stranded. Wake lead 5-4 heading to the 6th
Top of the 5th
Brett Barfield has replaced Blakely to start the 5th. He gave up a solo home run that gave Wake a 5-4 lead. He made it through the rest of the inning without surrendering a run and Wake leads by one heading to the bottom of the 5th
Bottom of the 4th
Wake strikes out the side and the game is tied 4-4 heading to the 5th.
Top of the 4th
A leadoff home run for Wake cut the lead to 4-3 and then an error and a double put runners on second and third with one out and then a sac fly tied the game 4-4. Blakely got the final out, but Georgia Tech has lost the lead.
Bottom of the 3rd
A one out single from Schmidt led to a two-run home run for Will Baker and Georgia Tech retook the lead 4-2. Zuckerman then grounded out to end the inning and send it to the 4th
Top of the 3rd
Blakely surrenders a two out solo home run, but strikes out the final batter to keep things even 2-2 heading to the bottom of the 3rd
Bottom of the 2nd
Daniel reached on an error and Kerce drew a two out walk to put a pair of runners on, but Burress struck out to end the inning. GT leads 2-1 heading to the 3rd
Top of the 2nd
Scoreless 1-2-3 inning for Blakely. GT leads 2-1 heading to the bottom of the 2nd
Bottom of the 1st
Kerce was hit by a pitch to start the inning and the Burress gave Georgia Tech the lead with a two-run home run. Schmidt was able to draw a two out walk, but that was all for the Yellow Jackets. They lead 2-1 heading to the 2nd
Top of the 1st
A leadoff walk and then a single put two runners on with no outs and then an RBI groundout gave Wake a 1-0 lead. Another walk and a hit batter loaded the bases with two outs. Blakely got out of the inning with minimal damage and Wake leads 1-0 heading to the bottom of the 1st

Georgia Tech pulled off a comeback for the ages yesterday at home, coming back from an early 10-0 defecit to win the game 14-11. It would be better if Georgia Tech did not have to mount a comeback like that, but the Yellow Jackets have the nation's best offense and they can get going quickly.
