SEC Softball Tournament Live Updates of No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 7 Arkansas

Score updates and analysis as the Crimson Tide takes on the Razorbacks in the SEC tournament quarterfinals.

Alabama opens up play at the 2026 SEC Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky on Thursday against Arkansas. The Crimson Tide (47-6) earned a double bye as the No. 2 seed in the conference. The Razorbacks (42-10) are the 7-seed and beat Mississippi State on Wednesday.

First pitch is scheduled for approximatley 1 p.m. CT and will air on SEC Network. BamaCentral will provide updates throughout.

Alabama advances to face Florida in the SEC tournament semifinals.

Top 7

  • A strikeout ends the game.
  • Taylor makes a catch in foul territory for the second out.
  • An error by Duchscherer gives Arkansas a one-out baserunner.
  • Briski's sixth strikeout goes for the first out of the inning.

  • Duchscherer hits one off the third baseman's glove, and pinchrunner Gerritt Griggs comes in to score to add to the Tide lead. Alabama 7, Arkansas 1

  • One-out single up the middle for White.
  • Ambrey Taylor joins the double-digit home run club. Her 10th of the year to leadoff the bottom of the sixth makes it 5-1 Alabama.

  • Three up, three down by Briski in the sixth inning. Great response after her offense gave her some runs to work with.
  • Two defensive changes for Alabama in the sixth: Larissa Preuitt enters in right field, and Abby Duchscherer comes in at first base.

  • A ground ball ends the inning, but Alabama has a big fifth inning.
  • Giles draws a two-out walk, her second walk of the day.
  • Timmerman retires Roman with a groundout. Two outs.
  • That will chase Herron from the game. Saylor Timmerman comes in from the bullpen for the Razorbacks.
  • According to the SEC Network broadcast, Herron has never allowed two home runs in the same inning before.

  • Hawkins strikes out swinging to strand Taylor at second. Alabama has eight strikeouts on the game.
  • Two-out double down the left field line for Taylor to keep the inning going.

  • Briski's fifth strikeout ends the frame, but Arkansas is on the board first.
  • Two-out walk extends the inning. This is only the sixth game all year with multiple walks for Briski.
  • A wild pitch allows Bell to score from third for the first run of the game. Arkansas 1, Alabama 0
  • Huge second out on a groundball to the left side. Hawkins looks back the runner at third and gets the out at first. Two outs.
  • Bell hits one out to right field, and Roman misplays the ball, allowing it to reach the fence. Arkansas has a one-out triple.
  • Briski is starting to heat up. Her fourth strikeout of the day opens up the fourth inning.

  • Herron strikes out the side in the third. Still scoreless after three.
  • Wells strikes out swinging. Two outs.
  • Young strikes out swinging to open the bottom half of the inning.
  • Top of the lineup due up for the Tide.

  • Briski gets a needed, quick three up, three down inning on just eight pitches.
  • One pitch, one out for Briski in the third on a groundout.

  • White strikes out looking, and Alabama strands two runners. The Crimson Tide is now 0-6 with runners in scoring position.
  • After review, it is confirmed that Giles is safe. Alabama has runners on the corners with two outs for Kristen White.
  • Hawkins flies out to shallow right field, and Giles tags up to third base with a close play. Arkansas is challenging the play.
  • Taylor pops up behind home plate for the first out. Really not what you're looking for from here there. Alabama would be hosting for at least a deep fly ball to move the runners up.
  • Vandagriff lays down a sacrifice bunt but ends up legging it out for an infield single. Two on with nobody out for Alabama.
  • Leadoff walk for Giles.
  • Giles, Vandagriff and Taylor due up for Alabama, looking for its first hit.

MID 2: Alabama 0, Arkansas 0

Top 2

  • Groundball ends the frame, but Briski has really had to labor so far. She's been extremely efficient all season, but has thrown 41 pithces through two innings today.
  • Diving stop by Young at second to rob a hit and get the lead runner. Two outs.
  • Briski bounces back with a strikeout. One out.
  • Leadoff single through the right side for Kennedy.

END 1: Alabama 0, Arkansas 0

Bottom 1- Alabama batting

  • Roman strikes out swinging, and Alabama can't make Arkansas pay for the leadoff error.
  • Pupillo hits a groundball to the right side that moves Young to third with two outs.
  • Wells can't put together a productive at-bat. She pops up to first base for the first out.
  • Young pops up the first pitch she sees, but the Arkansas SS drops the ball as she retreats into the outfield. Alabama gets a leadoff baserunner on the error as Young stands on second for Wells. Fortunate break for the Crimson Tide. Let's see if Alabama can take advantage.

  • Briski opens the game with her first strikeout. One out.
  • The first pitch from Briski is a strike, and this game is underway.

Florida beats Auburn 10-9, and the Crimson Tide will face the Gators in the semifinals if it advances.

Alabama's start will be delayed as the Auburn game has gone a little long.

The start time of Alabama and Arkansas might be slightly delayed depending on how long this Auburn Florida game lasts.

As the higher seed, Alabama will be the designated home team and bat second.
