Titans Sign Former Vikings Receiver to One-Year Deal

The Tennessee Titans have added depth to their receiving room with a late-stage signing in free agency.

In this story:

A lot of the Tennessee Titans-related pre-draft noise has been focused on Cam Ward. At some interval, the franchise is widely expected to bolster their quarterback’s arsenal of weapons in the highly-anticipated build toward his sophomore campaign. If Ward is to take the reins of Tennessee's franchise as their expected bastion of success, he'll need more than a little help.

Although now, still nearly a month prior to the event, Tennessee has taken a different route to assist Ward’s development. In a late-stage free agency move, the Titans have signed wide receiver K.J .Osborn to a one-year deal, according to Adam Schefter.

Formerly of the Minnesota Vikings (and, for a short stint, the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders), Osborn appears to be a promising measure of depth for a unit that already added a premier feature in the form of Wan’Dale Robinson, also in free agency, earlier this offseason.

A Measure of Depth

After logging seven touchdowns in his rookie campaign, Osborn has yet to reach those heights again. Yet, a change of scenery could be all the formerly reliable pass-catcher needs to reemerge as a productive piece once more.

United with Ward under offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, the Titans offense promises at least the opportunity for Osborn to make an impact. This is a signing that makes sense for Tennessee, even if it doesn't end up making much of a difference.

Osborn joins three additional signings as a seemingly second-ditch effort for the Titans to improve their roster ahead of the 2026 season, too, pulling from a less expensive level of the free agency field to fill gaps ahead of the aforementioned draft.

Saleh and Tennessee's front office, just as was done with their staff, are prioritizing experience in their reconstruction of a roster that previously had that important quality in inconsistent spurts.

Saleh Wants Experience

Experience is the through-line between the Titans' four-headed signing that came through this week and, although it doesn't necessarily equate with production or quality, it's an invaluable jewel for a roster changing at every position.

Osborn's specific case has little more to say than the report surrounding his signing. Although, Ward's receiving options look at least marginally better. In an offseason full of wins big and small, that certainly counts for something.
