No. 8 Virginia (9-6, 2-2 ACC) defeated No. 1 Notre Dame (10-2, 3-1 ACC) in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina. Virginia defeated Notre Dame 15-10 to advance to the ACC Championship. Updates are in reverse chronological order with the most recent events at the top.

Ryan Colsey buries a twister shot off a feed from Duenkel. Minutes later, Sunderland scores from the top of the key to give the Hoos a three goal lead. After another faceoff win, McCabe Millon scores after some outstanding ball movement by the Cavaliers.

Will Maheras breaks the deadlock with an on the run shot. Marek has six saves but comes off hobbling from the last one. Virginia goes man up after a tripping penalty. Marek goes out in comes Troy Capstraw. Right after the man up Colsey finds Brendan Millon to reestablish the Virginia lead.
