In the midst of following up a historic debut with a strong showing on Saturday, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders took a moment to pay homage to his father, first-year Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders.

With Colorado leading Nebraska, 29–7, late in the fourth quarter, Sanders took in a six-yard touchdown run to bolster the 22-point lead. Moments later, the 21-year-old broke out his Hall of Fame dad’s iconic “Deion Shuffle” in the end zone as CU fans erupted in celebration.

Sanders’s well-timed tribute added another signature moment to a big day for the junior transfer, who added to his early case as a Heisman candidate after turning in nearly 400 yards against the Cornhuskers.

With all eyes firmly fixed on the Buffaloes, Sanders, much like Coach Prime, showed just how much he’s enjoying a capitalizing on his “primetime opportunity” with CU now 2–0 following the rivalry game rout.

Outside of a SportsCenter-worthy TD celly, Sanders finished the team’s home opener with an even more impressive stat line, going 31-of-42 for 393 passing yards, two scores and zero interceptions. The dynamic QB now has 903 yards and no picks through two games, the second-most without an INT in either the FBS or FCS in that span since 2000.
